I’m currently working at product distribution company (large, business services NA and Europe) and making about 130k. I don’t see any upward mobility as a Solution Architect at this company, but I am terrified if I leave and join another company or even go back to consulting, I expose myself to being laid off. Three people were just laid off on my team, which was a bit unexpected since they had been with the company for +20 years. Should I continue to shop around? Does anyone else feel this way?

There is a massive difference between looking for something and actually getting an offer. Nothing should stop you from looking for something better. If you manage to get an offer, you can decide.

Can anyone let me know how easy it is to apply to a consulting firm in Dubai directly coming from London? I am currently working at a T2 strategy firm in London and my partner and I want to relocate in ~1.5 years. My firm does not have an office in Dubai whilst my partners firm does. Is it possible to apply straight (rather than moving laterally in London, waiting a few years then transferring?) interested in MBB views too. (I would have roughly 2.5 YOE by then)

Looking for some advice on a career change. I work in a technical role and have well-developed soft skills. I want to transition to UX (w/ focus on accessibility). There are a lot of UX educational programs out there, some very new, e.g. Dribbble, and costs are all over the place - General Assembly is $15k (and full-time), CareerFoundry almost $8k, and then many others at a fraction of the price. Reviews also vary wildly. Are these more expensive programs worth the huge increase in cost?
