I feel the same way. But it’s so important to also push back and let them know, I have this and this going on and I can’t do everything and do it well. They need to pick priorities and hire additional help.
Yes, definitely speak up and make them set priorities. I was afraid to do that during my first few years as a paralegal and literally ended up with an ulcer. I am now in very frequent contact with my attorney as to the list of what I'm working on, what deadlines are next, and what the priorities should be.
Oh, I feel that! Some days I feel like I’m just swimming in paperwork with no lifeline. My week usually consists of prepping for hearings, updating client files, and managing discovery. It can be a lot, and yes, the paperwork never seems to end.
