I’m flying from NY to SFO then to Taiwan with United. I have a 2.5hour layover. At SFO does anyone know if we have to exit the domestic terminal then switch to international? Will we have to take our checked luggage out and re-check it in?

What’s the best way to maximize having both the chase freedom unlimited and sapphire preferred?
