So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

Absolutely everyone.. I’m at 18 months combing through ghosts, scams, mlms, subsidy compliance fakes, etc daily. Hot garbage everywhere I look.
Way too many places want champagne-level work for watery beer-level wages. It doesn't help that age discrimination is supposed to be illegal, yet it's quite real and happens all the time.
Worst thing is knowing you're qualified because you've done almost the same job for years on end, you don't get the job, but there's no way to find out just WHY you didn't get it. You don't get feedback to adjust or change things going forward to give yourself a better chance.
Yep some people have quiet quitted from being unemployed.
Yes definitely me. All the denials.
Yeah I just posted about my frustrations. All this talent and nobody to let me in.
I agree. No one is truly hiring and only paying 12-17 per hour
You do what it takes. If you need to change industries to do that then so be it!
I landed a new job after window shopping as fully employed to another industry and got what I wanted. It's higher pay and better benefits, but an entirely different industry and I'm cool with that! The job is fully remote and I'll need to periodically travel to run field tests and gather data which actually sounds exciting compared to where I was.
Next is moving to a home of my choosing rather than the one I ended up with in desperation to comply with my previous company's proximity requirements!
You’re not alone. Sorry though, and hope you can breathe for a few minutes before returning to it. It’s not us, the system has been rigged to be hostile at job seekers.
