I’m getting sick of living in a city. What’s a good midsize town, liberal, good schools. Anywhere in the us? Good weather would be nice

NYC is requiring proof of vaccination for all indoor activities. That’s absolutely nuts (and I’m vaccinated)!

So I think I’m done in public accounting tax. It’s been about four years, got my CPA, been on a few different teams, and I’m just sick of if. This lifestyle feels incredibly unhealthy and detrimental to my health. I want to go to an industry job but have NO idea what I’m looking for. I like real estate a lot, own two properties myself. Do I look for like a real estate fund to work for? My experience is in asset and Wealth MGMT and some individual work as well. How do I find another job?!

I really would rather get hit by a bus and live on disability than go to work in this office until I can realistically walk out. I didn't realize how bad it was until right now.

In desperate need of advice here... I resigned from my job three months ago and made the conscious decision to take some time off before finding a new gig due to crippling anxiety and depression. Got the help I needed and I'm doing much better. I have a few interviews lined up over the course of the next few weeks and I'm torn on whether or not to disclose the fact that I've been professionally diagnosed with anxiety and depression. What's the best course of action?

My company is transitioning from wfh back to the office, but everyone returning to the office is supposed to be vaccinated. I told my boss I would NOT be getting the vaccine and he said I wouldn’t have a desk in the office until I did. So I told him I would continue to wfh. He said that “wouldn’t work.” After our phone call, I got an invite for a zoom conference with my boss and an HR rep!? They’re infringing on my rights by requiring a vaccine. What can I do to make sure I keep my job?

Any recommendations on where I can get medical examination done for Green card in NJ/NY. The cost seems to be so high in Manhattan and unfortunately I don’t have vaccination records that was done in India.

Thoughts on ignoring questions that are texted to you while you’re out sick?

What do you listen to while you work? Music? Podcasts? I’m getting sick of silence but I have a hard time focusing with noise sometimes.

Psychologically disabled 🐠 (ie PTSD/Bipolar/Depression/Schizoid spec/Autism spec/Anxiety, etc) have you had any luck requesting formal accomodation w/ HR for your disability @ your agency? What kind?

Rant: I'm so sick of briefing certain creative teams like digital/social came out yesterday. Anyone else have teams who don't stay current with any new tech/competition?

Are sick days a thing anymore, or is it just working from home to not fall behind when you can't physically go to work? Asking from my bed.

Did a medical check-up since I’m home and family doctor says business has actually been slow. High blood pressure for the first time in my life - I’m glad I know. Encourage others to get checked out just to see how their body is absorbing additional stress.

Parents in Consulting. How do you manage consulting hours (50+ hours) with children? What does your schedule look like?

Tax season, and I just noticed I have a household income of $700K. Guess how much we've saved? $0!!! $300K goes to tax - thanks to CA $60K goes to housing mortage, HOA, and tax $15K goes to travel & vacation $10K goes to BTS... Where did the rest of money go? NO IDEA... Looks like just dining and grocery stuff. I don't have even have kids, didn't buy any luxury brands last year.

What household income would you need to be comfortable buying an 800k house? Assuming no other debt. Know there are many other factors besides HHI, just taking the temperature here

Analyst keeps taking time off for dr appointments, sick, etc. Today they were screen sharing and had a bunch of tabs open with titles that were obviously emails regarding interview scheduling, follow ups, and job search websites. Hope all that sickness doesn’t impede their ability to land a new job!

Considered falling down the stairs today to injure myself so I could have time off work. Think this means it’s time to take a step back and think about my physical and mental well being.

A friend of mine gave me a referral (tech company). I went through the very hard recruiting process (without his help) and ended up receiving a very good offer (+70k TC and stocks/much larger team to lead). Friend got a referral bonus of 8k but barely mentioned it and I heard it from the HM. How would you feel? I mean he did help me getting a dream job so I shouldn’t bother, right? Also im curious: would you give the candidate (in this case myself) a piece of the 8k?
