Just because you’re a woman doesn’t mean that you should be held back or have to deal with everything else that the men don’t want to deal with. You are highly skilled professional not an administrative person who does crap work. If you’re feeling stuck, look outside your company for another job. Netwerk on LinkedIn, Don’t ever stay in a row more than 2 to 3 years. You’ll get behind in salary and it will be much harder to move or leave to advance. For reference I’ve been in a male dominated industry for over 25 years and have had to fight for roles, titles, and salary. companies are doing better, but in no way are women 100% equal to male counterparts regardless of what an HR person would say. Good luck!
Yep, my company is very small <50 people. I am the only woman in a highly technical role. I take on the most difficult clients and the projects no one wants to deal with. I completed my Master of Engineering while working full time. I received a “good job” and a copy of my diploma taped to the fridge as a reward.
Yes. Unfortunately, that exists. I've worked in male dominated fields most of my life. Some companies are better run than others when it comes to these situations.
True I keep getting passed by because I am a female and get no credit for what I do. The higher ups take my ideas and put them to use and take the credit for it .
Yep, I just got passed over on a position that I was told would be mine because I took off to take care of my baby that had come down with RSV and pneumonia. The other female tech that was in the shop quit before Thanksgiving.
You may need to find a better company and position. Life is too short to have to deal with nonsense.
