I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?

Following as I have a trip planned too! Funny enough, Blanton's is actually Japanese owned (Buffalo Trace just has the exclusive contract to distill and bottle it) so there are JDM bottles (Takara editions) that I'm planning to pick up as gifts, in addition to local whiskey too
Yamazaki
100% agree - this is a good call
Nikka from the barrel is a favorite of mine but you can get it in the US. I hear kavalan is a good buy out there and harder to get around here as well
Nikka whiskey. They have Japan-only exclusives at their distillery that you can sample and buy. It's a little out of the way but they have a car shuttle from the nearest subway station for free, and it's well worth the trip.
If you’re able to get any aged or limited release goodness from Suntory or Nikka. Duty free user to have some, but it’s really like playing the lotto now tourism has ramped-up. If you buy around town, a lot of prices have been jacked-up, too, since they know Japanese whisky is a craze.
If you’re looking for something to enjoy / share / gift (and want to get a sampling of what’s out there / not the typical big brands) - Liquor Mountain in Ginza gives you the opportunity to try out a bunch of pours for a few hundred yen.
They also have some really cool, collectible bottles (like from Karuizawa, Chichibu, the like), but are pricey…
If you get lucky - you can score some bottles in local stores or even in Don Quijote. My go-to now has been Akkeshi and Ichiro’s / Chichibu.
