I'm hoping I can get some ideas on how yo accomplish what I'd like to do using excel. I have a report format that exists but I'd like to make it smart and less prone to input error.

Simplified below the pic represents 2 states of the same doc. The waterproof button determines if Test C is needed, and if not it's shaded gray. The size field changes the pass/fail criteria where the user data is evaluated. If only 2 PN then 3rd column shade gray.

Whats the best approach in excel for this?

VBA would make this easy

Conditional format using a formula would work very well

Is this currently written with conditional logic formulas and conditional formatting is it working?

If so it just might need output cell protection (lock them) and make the input cells selectable

As above commenter said could use vba could also be good - especially if this is something used a lot and the parameters don’t change

Hi Group, seems like it should be basic format, but I just can not get it to work. a list of data and want to alternate shade (blue, white, blue, etc) each line but if I have multiple lines I want to group together and they all shade the same. I want to group by the same data in column A, and the number of rows that are the same could vary. So let’s say row 1& 2 same entry in column A(blue) row 3 different (white) row 4,5,6 same as each other different to other rows (blue) etc… help 🙏
