I'm in month eight of being "laid off". I worked at Guitar Center over the summer but they kept reducing hours, their pay/commission structure is a joke, and they're too in bed with Synchrony for me to be comfortable selling there. Now I drive Lyft. I've done these things because I can't get ONE SINGLE INTERVIEW for the job title I've had for 3-4yrs (Community Mgmt). I've lost my home, about to lose my car, and I couldn't even get an interview at a local grocery store. IDKWTD. Any ideas, y'all?

I think I have work trauma not sure how it’s clouding my ability to make decisions. I’ve had unstable work after being laid off from a company 3 years ago. I thought I worked out a plan to get to a stable place but my job is proving to be unstable yet again. I secured a FT role at another company but because it’s a lot less money I’m unsure because I feel very cynical about companies in general. I assume it’ll be just like all the rest but now I’ll just be making less and could get laid off.

Howdy…I need a sanity check! As part of my previous role, I reported security non-compliance and gross security misrepresentations. For my valiant efforts I was laid off (despite being a protected whistleblower) and my reports were buried. Everything I did was in line with my responsibilities. I was extremely concerned that systems housing personal credit data on all US consumers were not adequately protected. I essentially risked my job to protect data and I’m not sure if it mattered.
