Im looking to obtain a professional designation that would take anywhere from 6 to 12 mo(my pace), naturally I've brought this up to my mom, who points out im already overwhelmed in a wfh position with a 1 and 3 yr old. Im feeling my spirits are crushed, but I know I could do it! Am I crazy for thinking I can go for this at this stage of my life? Am I overly ambitious for everything I have on my plate? My thought was I don't want to waste my time getting my career where I want it to be.

You can do it. We shouldn’t always share our next steps. With a 1 and 3 year old, I’m not sure how realistic your timeline is. I’ve had to adjust my timeline for professional certainty because I have young kids. I’m having to take a little longer. But it’ll get done.

Don’t be discouraged. Make a plan and readjust as needed.

Best everyday bank account and credit card in Australia for an expat couple?

I‘m moving to Australia with my partner and we don’t have a bank account and credit cards yet. We basically need the bank account only for everyday finance stuff (local payments, debit card, etc) and we‘re looking for some credit cards with good international fees and ideally a reward program to collect some points for traveling.

Currently controller for a $120M PE backed company. Interviewing for a Director of Accounting role for a $1B PE backed company. Would be almost fully remote. Probably around 30-40% salary increase ($40k+). Currently have equity that would cash in upon a change of ownership in about 2 years (likely worth upwards of $200k). Change of industry from restaurant to CPG. Thoughts?

Hi everyone, I had a major surgery and am looking to find a remote position involving anything that isn’t 100% commission based or cold calling/agent positions. Looking to make $25-35 an hour, and have had long term positions such as Clinical Secretary & Receptionist/Administrator, Accounts Payable Clerk, Team Lead, and Sales Associate. I’m willing to try new things and am a very quick learner, and can handle multitasking and high pace. Does anyone know of any good work from home positions?

Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!
