I just started 15 months ago. Have ASEL PPL with Instrument and working on Commercial currently. Only at 160 hours so have a bit to go. Would love to fly more but work and family limit the time available.
I'm a part time CFI. It can be a drain but it is so rewarding.
Private and instrument, 500 hours over the last 5 years. Mostly xcountry flights on the weekend and volunteering with CAP.
Consider getting your commercial and then your commercial multi. The multi sounds tough but it is not. I even got my commercial single engine sea rating. I suppose it is the vanity of saying you are a commercial-rated pilot, but the skills you learn and the knowledge you gain adds a little spice to your logbook.
