Looking to choose a place to fly out of for getting my PPL. Would you recommend a program based out of a controlled or uncontrolled airport? It sounds like you get more flight time out of the uncontrolled (less busy), but less experience liaising with ATC. Both options are comparable cost-wise and about the same distance from my house.

Favorite family vacation destinations? I figure I should spend some of this money on something fun.

Looking for a Caribbean vacation recommendation for my husband and me. Want to go for around a week in early summer. We are active, not partiers, like boutique or small hotels or b&bs. Like being able to walk places. Like a more local experience versus touristy/resort-type places. The recruiter wanted to know my exact salary at my current company...He said hiring managers will not even look at my resume until I share my numbers. I declined to share my current comp and he said if I wanted to move forward I have to share that info.

Do I have to disclose this? And is there a way for them to verify it if I say a higher number?

I feel pathetic. I care about him and I’m too scared to ask what he wants. I always have the problem in relationships that I hide my true feelings or cannot be vulnerable until it is too late.

Hello if anyone’s there 👋 I’m wondering what some of you have done after getting your PPL? I assume continue to learn/gain ratings, but how often do you fly once you’ve reached that milestone, do you look to get you own aircraft (or share), volunteer etc? Looking to eventually take the plunge, but want to know what things look like beyond PPL.

So, aviation buffs... Are those 30 donated jets actually gonna make a difference?

Took the plunge and took a 2 month break from work to finally get my PPL. No clue how I would’ve done this without the break. Passed medical, written, and already have 6 hours! I’m doing an accelerated program with a small school in California to knock this out in a few weeks. So far so good!

Just had my discovery flight and I’ve been wanting to go for my PPL for a while, just not sure I can justify the 15k or so investment in my current financial situation. Would it be really bad to spread my lesson over a period of a few years?
