The “we’re in a bubble, wait for the market to crash” crowd has been wrong for at least the last 10 years.
If you find the right property at a price that makes sense for you, then pull the trigger.
It really depends on what market you're looking in. There's expected to be a pretty big changes in the housing market this summer, however, not all markets will feel it. If it's a fast growing city the prices will stay high because of a natural demand.
That said, if you're going to keep this house for 10+ years don't worry about trying to time the market. Find a house you like at an acceptable price and buy it.
What reports?
I’d like an answer to that too. For dormitory towns in south east England with a <1 hour commute into the City or Canary Wharf
When you say “people keep telling me to wait” do you mean influencers?
It definitely depends on what state and area you're in... Like in Florida for instance since 2020 prices of homes skyrocketed way above their actual value and little by little they started coming down and I definitely for see them coming way down soon and a lot of people are going to be upside down. So yes I agree with the wait, however nobody will be able to tell you exactly when that is going to happen. It's just a slow process and eventually it will correct itself.
I'm waiting for the bubble or something to happen because the prices for homes is insane right now.
