Pls have faith in God, No one is perfect! Put your trust in him and surrender your life if you haven’t already. I’m hear to tell you, he will direct your path, He loves you! If they ask, tell them it was a small infrastructure a while back, and you have since learned from your mistake. That’s why you chose to mentor & encourage other youths to never give up on their dreams, because there’s a bright future that awaits them‼️
Not a joke but pretty much every court in the country is considered a "second chance employer." They hire felons. Your misdemeanor is of no consequence.
If you have paid all of your fines and don't owe the court for the misdemeanor, you can file and have your fee deferred and at the end of the case, possibly waived. You have good cause to have the waived. As long as you're respectful and treat the judge well, they will most likely waive it .... especially since you're unemployed.
I have a relative who has this challenge and they decided to go into business for themselves. Have you ever thought about freelancing as a virtual assistant? That might be an option that will work for you. In the meantime, do your best to keep your spirits up. It's hard to keep fighting when we're downhearted. Also, this job market is terrible, full stop, so even without the misdemeanor, your job search would still be a challenge. Nevertheless, I'm hoping for the best for you.
You need to get that off your record and YOU can. It is a misdemeanor. You don't need an attorney. You will need to file a motion requesting expungement. Google examples of "expungement letter" and you will find samples. You will also need to create a case caption sheet (aka coversheet for the case with what the filing is for. In this case, you will be filing a "Motion for Expungement" and attach the letter. The court will then schedule a hearing. You MUST appear at the hearing. Look professional and be sincere. Chances are it will get expunged no issues. Good luck!!!!
I would encourage you to get connected with the local reentry program and see if they can get you a list of places that hire people with a record. There are a lot of places, it's just a matter of finding them. I'm really sorry you're dealing with that.
There has to be a way to get it off your record if it’s just a misdemeanor. What state are you in? Different states have different resources to help people in your situation.
Apply for school bus! it pays up to $25/hr
Where are you located? What state? Try applying for city jobs. Most are second chance employers. Also put that in your search criteria on job posting sites to barrow them down.

I am sorry but you HAVE to deal with it because as the saying goes" you made your bed now you must lay in it". The only thing you can do is to explain the situation and what you learned from it. For YEARS, companies have been doing credit, background, and drug tests. Honestly, I think with the Millennial and Gen Zers in the job market there needs to be an IQ Test. I had to go 10 years with Bankruptcy on my Credit History, and I still was able to get various employment.
At least it is not a felony although many seem not to understand the difference between a misdemeanor and felony. It is not going to be easy but I am sure if you explain yourself that they will understand.
Why haven't you looked up how to expunge the misdemeanor? Go online to your state and do the research. Requesting a day off to go to the courthouse to start this process will be the best option, or stop by the local library and check out some books.
