Does anyone here work for Silicon Valley Bank? They recently acquired Boston Private. I’m a candidate for a job at Boston Private. Wondering if SVB is planning layoffs in the near term at BP? Also, does anyone know the anticipated benefits to be rolled out from SVB as the parent company? Specifically interested in health insurance providers. Thanks in advance for any information! Every startup before Series D will be very disorganized. It’s only pre ipo time that the company will hire enough accountants to manage the filings and business. I have friends who move to startup to startup for pre ipo readiness and they clear $1-3m over the 2-3 years at each firm.
They only join series D or E which means imminent IPO. So it’s a guarantee payout but the amount varies and $1m is probably closer to the average. I know two who joined Reddit recently, so let’s see how that goes.
Focusing on what you were hired to do and get it done. You will be pulled in many directions and asked to do different jobs that are unrelated to your core responsibilities. When you fail because of the lack of focus, the CEO will blame you. So remember to focus!
