In the initial phases of an interview with BCG for a Senior Knowledge Analyst position (recruiter reached out). I am throwing a wide net for a transition and I wanted to see if any BCG fish can vouch for its value at all. If anyone has made transitions between consultant and analyst roles. I work in field sales as an IC. My aspirational career path is to end up in people leadership. Recently, an Inside management position opened up that’s been brought to my attention by the hiring director. Question is, is going back Inside the right move to get into started in leadership? But the work does not appeal to me, I’ve been doing some of it and it’s so much admin and people management. I’m not practicing law at all. One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
