Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?

Hello all,
I'm currently working on azure cloud in Cognizant . I've about 1.4 years of experience now. I've got an offer from Axtria as an L1 Analyst. Could anyone please suggest if the change in field is worth it. Or should I just look for other jobs in cloud only? I will have to decide this at the earliest so please do help me with it.

Been hearing a lot of negative feedback about Axtria.
Can someone also share what exactly is bad? For ex. If micro-managing is a problem, maybe the ops team exactly requires that with people from 1-5 yrs of experience. Or if policies are bad, what exactly is bad?
No ranting, just constructive feedback/comments which can be put forward/used in a broader forum by Axtrians sometime in the future.
That’s completely true that not every policy situation well with every employee. Although what you fail to understand is that these policies don’t sit well with any employee and actually I have seen certain sr managers now AD come drunk to office and also support certain favourite employees break the rules and yet be compliant due to the managers political power inside the office
Every fool before joining axtria thinks this way.
- No additional Joining bonus, claiming 2 lacs JB is rare which is being given out (Fishbowl helps getting the reality here)
- Variable amt being decided randomly (usually it's a % of fixed, unless Axtria has different rules)
- T&Cs for joining bonus is crazy (2 yrs lock in for an amt of w
2 lacs, that too gets credited post completion of probation period; other companies credit this with the first month's salary)
- If you travel outside, another 3-6 months lock in
- Since you join post Sep 30, you're not eligible for appraisal next year, so you gotta continue with this salary for the next ~18 months.
As much as I'd love to comply with other policies in place, making someone feel guilty for demanding more is something I've experienced for the first time.
I feel senior consultant is from talent partner team. I can sense from tone and English! 😀😀😀😀
Diplomacy and problem solving are not even related. You sound irrational- must be HR at Axtria or AD/ D in DS!!! 😀😀😀
