I’ve written so many lines like “You got this, queen 💅” and “Treat yo’self, babe” that I’m starting to cringe at my own portfolio. It’s all empowerment-as-aesthetic, but with none of the substance. Clients still ask for it like it’s 2018, and I’m torn between giving them what they want and pushing for something that feels more real. Are we collectively over this tone?

Jumping off a related topic: am I delusional to not care about jr/int/sr level titles? I've been a "copywriter" since the day I started and steadily gained responsibility, autonomy, and money. Happy with career progression, always getting juicier assignments, work directly with ECDs/CCOs... am I missing something crucial? Is my case an anomaly? Or is it okay not to push for a title upgrade?

Creative means developing the big idea (concepting), writing scripts and headlines with flair, etc.) for an awareness "hook" and then the other camp, which includes brochures, one pagers, banner ads, sales sheets.
