Is anyone getting hired out there? Been looking for over a year for a Senior Art Director position or equivalent. 500 something applications, multiple interviews, 2 positions I was the second choice. Is it the economy is still just horrible right now or are companies just hiring new grads and forgoing hiring experience because they are cheap?

Kids aren’t getting hired either. I’ve got a 22 year old still trying to get hired but every job requires 2 years of experience.

I hope they are still applying! Many places consider college “experience”

It's horrible out there. Been 14 months for me. Got retrained in a new field and applying in both, but neither is hiring. I also have an Etsy shop that went from steady side-hustle income to nothing. I read interest rates are too high, so companies have put hiring on hold. I can't even get hired for a fraction of what I used to make. I'd walk dogs at this point but people can't afford a dog walker. It's really, really bad out there.

Similar situation for me. 8 months of being unemployed. 1% interview rate. Yesterday I was told that I was chosen to interview from 700 but they went with someone who was more closely aligned…and this was a freelance, part-time role!! Fractional or self employment might be the only way forward at this point

I graduated early 2023 and have been struggling to find work as well, so i’m not sure if they’re hiring new grads either. I’ve been wondering the same thing.

Hang in there, been in the industry for 11 years, and i have a job and am actively searching with no luck. Hopefully the economy turns around and feds lower interest rates, which directly impacts companies that are looking to hire. Don't give up! You've got the bullet points, just make connections on LinkedIn as much as you can!

To start with, maybe only 100 or so of those were even real jobs.

Have you tried finding a headhunter to get you a job? It's always easier if the jobs are coming to you instead of the other way around.

agreed..I've talked to 2 recruiters and they have no openings with anyone...they said this is the worst they've seen the market in 20 years

Tough time getting past final step: I’ve been trying to make a career shift for 10 months now and continue to get rejected at the last step. Im confident in the value I can provide and do well at presenting it. However, once it’s comes down to me and 1-2 other candidates, I repeatedly have been turned down for the person who has more relevant experience as they’re a safer bet for the employer. Would love advice from anyone who’s dealt with this before. It’s tough to get them to take a risk on me

In the beginning of my career I absconded 1 company who had 3 years bond and I worked there for 5 months. My pf account is created for that company and it has been closed with reason cessation (short service). After that I worked in 1 company for 6 years and since January I'm working in TCS. Should I mention my first company experience. So far I'm not mentioning it anywhere.

Writing annual goals. What are examples of how to write “quantifiable” goals as a consultant? Are you measuring number of relationships built, projects, or something else?

Most of consulting is advising on solutions to problems, but I don’t control the outcome, whether the advice is implemented, or the budget. Sales is easy (e.g. “sell $2M of products/services this year”) because there is a clearly defined measurement. What can consultants measure?

What is the most difficult thing about your job? Personally, I’m not a huge fan of presenting my work but it’s just something thats’ gotta get done

The particular job I’m looking at has this on the listing and I’m curious as to what their budget actually is. Do I assume a range?

They’re seeking someone with 5-8 years experience. I have the latter (8 almost 9)
