dont hook up with a staff, we know you are asking for yourself
In this scenario I feel like staff almost always has waaay more to lose than the atty. Source: am staff.
Because if something blows up - unless it’s egregious enough to end up in Above the Law, from a firm perspective it’s always going to be easier and cheaper and less disruptive to replace a staff member vs an attorney. Also, if the attorney does get booted, he’ll be just fine and will land on his feet 99.9% of the time. If some single mom paralegal gets walked out, she’ll struggle far more to find a new job and will have far less savings to live off of in the meantime.
Can be. Can be a lawsuit too. Seen it.

I know the dating apps are a complete cesspool now, but is the best we can do hooking up with coworkers? While there is the occasional story of a workplace romance turning out with a happy ending, that's the exception rather than the rule. It's not worth the risk.

Do not do that.
What counts as legal staff? Do secretaries count? What about ones that don’t work for you?
Mentor
Anyone who is not an associate, counsel, or partner is staff from my perspective, including receptionists, IT, and consultants/business professionals. Legal staff would be secretaries, paralegals, other assistants that interact with attorneys, and word processing. Essentially everyone that is not relegated to a low floor or a back office.
Does the answer change if it were non-legal staff? For example, the building receptionist, an IT worker, etc?
