Is it just me, or is Krispy Kreme dying in the US? Meanwhile in other countries, it is doing the best product marketing and coming up with the cutest ideas to attract customers. The only place in my neighborhood with any KK is my supermarket but I don't want to get them cold and boxed. They're hands down my favorite donuts! Does anybody here know why it is this way?

You’re definitely not imagining it. Krispy Kreme has been struggling in the US lately, especially compared to its buzz overseas. The company has paused its big expansion plans with McDonald’s and is even considering cutting back up to 10% of its US locations because sales haven’t met expectations, and profitability is an issue. A lot of stores now just deliver boxed doughnuts to supermarkets and gas stations, which isn’t the same as getting them fresh and warm from a shop.

I actually had no idea they were thriving in other countries. I remember when we first got Krispy Kreme in my state, and it was like the biggest deal ever. I do think they're especially good donuts.. I wonder if they're just getting beat out by competitors in the US or something. Or if people just got sick of the simplicity of them.

Oh my gosh, that's actually the cutest kiosk I've ever seen in my life. What a clever and fun idea. I agree with you, but I've also noticed the same about Dunkin. I've come across Dunkin in other countries and they are always doing the most fun marketing initiatives and creative campaigns. Meanwhile, the ones here just seem to do the same old thing.

The US has a lot of competition for donuts, if you look overseas the competition is much less, and the mid to low-tier donut shops practically don't exist.

I'm two thirds through the PMA Core Certification, and the info is great but the tests are a joke. They need to contract with an educator that specializes in testing and assessment to come in and develop exams that actually measure if you know the material. The bad test design devalues the certification. Not to zero, but I definitely will not be proud to have earned it. It just means I had $1300 and sat through 15 hours of video lectures.
