Is job security still a thing? Does anyone feel confident that their job is not on the chopping block?

Nope - especially these days.

Nope I’ve been laid off as an A1 so there’s no way to ever feel secure after that

A2 in Audit here. I feel 4/10. Hopefully I don’t get laid off. We are doing layoffs over here.

Scary times.

Yes, have a big book and high margins

About 20 years ago or so, I worked for a major global corporation. The first few years I was there, I saw them do, at least, 2 rounds of promoting people to supervisor and manager levels. Then turn around in less than 18 months to layoff most of them.

Even government jobs no longer have job security. Layoffs happen at every level.

Hi background in audit and soc compliance now working for a non-public firm but delivering support to the auditors. Being that I am new I am still learning all the processes however cannot find a single process narrative. In order to better my experience performance I have attempted to find some type of structure.
Nothing is compliant…..

Would you send over a file for review with your name on it when told for job security or respect yourself and understand why first

Hi everybody! 😊
I've been working as a Junior Analog Design Engineer for a year and half.
I received a proposal for a Senior Analog Designer role from Bosch in the same city where I am currently working.
Should I wait and build up a few more years of experience before accepting a Senior role or should I jump in and work to fill the gap?
Next year, there will be an important deadline for the project I'm working on and my resignation could be critical for the team, how would you deal with it?

I booked a trip from NYC->Singapore with Krisflyer miles for next year. I need to change the reservation to be NYC->Bangkok but with a stop over in Singapore. I’m seeing that the dates are now blocked / waitlist only on the stopover route (bc the singapore flight is full) but I am the person on the NY->Singapore flight 🤦🏽‍♂️. Any ideas on how to make this change given it’s an entirely new route?

I left Audit at a midsize firm to join KPMG erp implementation consulting about 6 months ago. So far they seem to only want to staff me on projects with a heavy focus on technical accounting and audit. Spoke to a lot of others who have left and seems like being pigeonholed or staffed on projects not related to the actual core work of the practice is the common reason. I've been on the fence about whether I should stay and hope to be staffed on better projects in the future or leave soon...
