Haha, that's a tricky question. It's a city for vacationers more than I'd say for dreamers. But if you want to let it be the vessel for your dreams to come true, it can absolutely be that for you. It's a great city, if you get to meet the right people... but sure is the hard part.
Depends if the dream involves plastic surgery/exogenous testosterone, scamming your way up and spending habits way above what your net worth would afford
I moved here from LA three years ago. Many people in LA were flighty and flaky, but they were generally nice enough, if you were nice to them. People in Miami, by and large, are just horrible human beings. Selfish, pushy, rude, greedy, entitled. People here seem to take being nice as a sign of weakness.
Dreamer of what? Partying? Trying to keep up with the insane lifestyle? :-) I lived there 17 years...all the most rude people in the country move there, imo. Of course there are some great people, but overall its a big no for me.
100% this. Left Miami after 15 years and couldn’t be happier. People in Miami are rude as fuck, snobby and opportunistic.
Honestly I have only lived here for about two months now and I can tell you that I do not think this is the city for dreamers. So far I feel like this is the city for young people to come and party. I just feel like I am not really fitting in here because I am older and the crowd seems to be a younger generation.
It all depends on the people you deal with/hang out with. I'm in Mid Miami Beach and I love it around here. It's more family-friendly. Lot of activities to do and if you are into a religion or sports, there are a lot of events and classes to attend and get to know new, down-to-earth people. I tend to dodge Brickell and surrounding areas because that is where all the fakers are.
Not with this governor
Dude… i’m not political mind you, but what does the Governor have to do with Miami?
It can be. I think any city can be, if you're a dreamer enough.
Its a fantasy city for me full of fake people and rude. I wish I had the financial means to move out asap.
