Is moving from legal into consulting actually worth it?I’ve been thinking more about roles on the business side or in law-related consulting. The work sounds broader and often more flexible, at least on paper, but I also wonder about long term growth and how easy it is to come back to a legal role if it doesn’t work out. had anyone here made this move, was it worth it?
What do you wish you’d known before making the switch?

How much do legal consulting roles pay?

like

Less pay, same hours.

I interviewed for an M&A consulting role at a Big 4 early in my career. Pay was only $115k/yr as a 1st year with a JD. Other consulting firms can pay well for senior attorneys but there is worse WLB and often it still pays less than most decent law firms for legal work. I’m sure McKinzie or BCG would pay better than KPMG or PWC or EY.

Hello! What is the best way to structure a discovery call for SaaS sales? e.g. share a deck, only focus on their use case (current state, goals, pain, etc.), share a story, etc. Lastly, how do you go further than surface level, like if they mention they are having issues with xyz, which is usually a symptom of the problem and not the problem itself. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. Is this normal in the entertainment world? Any suggestions?
