Is my understanding correct that you are always ‘referred to the hiring manager’ for positions you applied to on USAJobs, so long as you meet the minimum requirements of the position (e.g., you qualify for the GS-14 level based on the posting requirements, etc.)? The inverse: Has anyone ever not been referred but they were qualified for the position?

Your understanding is mostly correct. I think if you meet the minimum requirements you’ll very likely be referred to the hiring manager. If you don’t meet the minimum requirements you will not get referred to the hiring manager.

How do you know if you were referred to the hiring manager?

Three job interviews with a company, last one creating a marketing plan and presenting to marketing VP. I received good feedback from him. Three days later recruiter wants to give me a call and “give an update”. Schedules it after 2 days. This morning cancels last minute as they are having “internal discussions”. I’m really annoyed and tired. Thoughts?

Open to a new role more focused in the tech industry. Have nearly 5 years working in a top 5 Canadian bank. I currently manage a commercial banking portfolio of roughly $100 million in annual commercial lending clients. Have experience selling and managing c-suite etc. Looking for a remote opportunity.

Long post alert; I have been interviewing with a b4 for a senior con role since Mar end. Cleared all the rounds including case study and got strong rating as well as good feedback. Fast forward to last week, the talent POC calls me up and informs that she has asked the business if the position is still open, because now they just need the business approval to roll out the offer. I immediately felt demotivated as to ‘why now’ after all rounds have been cleared (continued in the comment below)

529 Plan VERSUS Prepaid

We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid." After obviously ignoring this for years, we are finally trying to do it before "it's too late" for both children.

Does anyone have recommendations on which plan to go with for each child? I once did the pros and cons on a whiteboard and it seemed like 529 was better.
