I want to be an HR generalist, but I am afraid I may have to take a step back in order to do so. I’ve been in recruiting and the talent management sector of HR for 5+ years. Now, I want to step into a generalist role, but realize I lack some aspects of experience that I maybe could have gotten as an HR coordinator. Do I need to take a step back/laterally move before becoming a generalist? I have my PHR. Thank you!

3 folks that I have hired and trained are being offered a Director position above me. I am so proud of them, but I need advice… When I asked why I was not considered, the only reasons that came up were the following: *1. Less college education 2. My age. I am young. 3. Less experience with Landlords.* I have been with this company for quite a while and my goals have been clear. When I asked what I needed to do over the past 2 years to achieve Director, these 3 issues were not mentioned.

Anyone in full-service or media agencies that OWN a marketing automation tool? Any thoughts on whether or not the agency of the client should own that tech?

A CRO offerred me an internal consulting/biz dev role. They offered 145k TC (20% bump) and slightly better benefits. They also offered accelerated path (6mo to 1yr) to MC. While promotion to MC at my current company is at least 1 year away. The job is interesting to me and fits my careery goal. But my big concern is that I've only been with my current company for a year (this is my first job, post PhD). Would this affect my resume in the future in terms of being viewed as "job hopping"?

So I’m being contacted by GS for an associate role in Dallas. I live in Tampa. Making around $88,500. What is the realistic amount I can ask for? I assume I can try and get $120k to $130k for an associate role within GS. Hear hopping firm to firm is a standard and it usually brings a nice pay hike.

A few of my colleagues were promoted to the same level as me. I am posting this here and in the HR group. At what point in the interviewing/hiring/offer stage do you try to negotiate a sign on bonus? Is there a specific position level within the company before they’d even consider offering one to a candidate? Thanks!

I make 100k per year. My company set three goals every year. But I finish 2 out of 3 goals. The max % hike to up to 5. There is annual bonus too up to 5k. But I worked hard this fiscal year and got a award from the company. Now, I’m wondering if I could leverage my award to get more hike/annual bonus?

So at what point is asking for salary expecations allowed? I had a recruiter reach out to me about a potential position, but there was no information about what the salary range could be. So I asked, but was told that the employer will perform a salary evaluation once the candidate is chosen.

Help! I’m utterly confused. I’m in the interview/prescreening stage for a large Fortune 500 company and when discussing salary I’m told it’s an OTE of 150K with a mix of base salary, stock, and a signing bonus. The signing bonus will be paid out over 24 months. 🥴 This doesn’t sound like a good deal to me. Thoughts?

How much do you value WFH as a benefit? In terms of monetary value, I’m saving on gas every day, and have no commute, but I still have a car so l can get around and do things in my free time.

I’m on 45k + ~20k bonus, but market rate for my position in this area is 65k + bonus of 15-30k. Am I best off with WFH from a pure quality of life perspective?

I'm interviewing with 4 companies and find it odd that only two of them brought up comp early in the process while the other two haven't asked once about my salary expectations even after multiple interviews. Is this pretty typical? I have been recruited to my last several roles and this is my first time ever interviewing with multiple companies at once.

Salaries are typically lower at non-profits. Generally speaking, what is a great salary range for a project manager position at a non-profit, without lowballing one’s self?
