VP at Mastercard is a leadership role, so way higher than at banks!
Subject Expert
VP in any non-Bank company is going to be a fairly senior role. VP in banking is an officer title and is not how you evaluate leveling in Banking either (although it will never be a senior executive role)
VP at banks are just superficial titles (most of the the time). At other industry its an actual authority/ leadership rôle that’s super hard to achieve for most.
VP at Mastercard is a great level to aim for.
IMO VP at MC is roughly equivilant to experienced SM / associate director in consulting. Likely there is some variance depending on org within MC.

Kpmg MDs exit to MCD to VP levels so no. It's not SM equivalent. And SM is not equivalent to AD in consulting
Its pretty lower middle management. Not senior at all. A director at a tech company big 5 or even smaller ones is much higher level. However, its higher if you compare with VPs at most Bank.
