Is there a reason to feel guilty about using AI to speed up your workflow? I feel like it's wrong somehow, and that I should be getting paid less than I do because I'm getting help. Does anyone want to help me see this in a different light? Or do you also struggle with such feelings?

The things that I'd be concerned with, for a client contracting with another party, is if the other party: 1. Used my clients sensitive or proprietary data as an input without having appropriate controls on prohibiting training or retention of the data; 2. indemnification for IP infringement (eg, if your output ends up being someone else's copyrighted material, you pay for any damages and our legal fees); and 3. You are still in the loop making sure the AI system is performing as expected (e.g, if your job is to merge accounting databases, you can Use AI to automate that process but if we get it full of errors, you're getting blamed for not doing QC.)

Great points

To speed up workflow, sure, to do all of your work and submit subpar work, I think that’s wrong. I try to think about it like this, we aren’t in covered wagons and horses anymore, I’m not using a hammer and chisel and stone to take notes, advancements should be embraced and made to work for you.

As long as they like your work, and you're getting things delivered on time, why do you have to worry about letting them know how you got it done? Don't know what kind fo work you do but as long as you're not just giving them rubbish that AIs can sometimes churn out ... I think you're fine.

Exactly

It's a basic ethical issue, really. If you've agreed not to submit AI product as your work, that's the answer right there. If it's something that has gone unaddressed, that's for you to decide. Depending on your work and your clients, they may not care anyway.

Some clients may want you to use AI

If you are paid by the hour and you work quicker with AI, you are helping your client save money. If you are paid by output and AI makes your job faster/easier or improves your output, you are just using a tool like any other to improve your workflow.

In the 2000s, were people cheating by using Google instead of going to the library? How about using a calculator over an abacus? Stylist draw pad over using a mouse? AI is just another tool.

Exactly, some clients may want you to use AI

I haven't really figured out ways to incorporate it so that it speeds up my workflow but I am always looking for ways to do that. I don't view it as a bad thing at all and I am definitely not opposed to it. This is honestly what we are going to be seeing alot more of in the future.

Good point
