Is this truly a terrible time of year to be making moves? How many of you are waiting until the holidays are over?

I’ve had multiple job offers and interviews recently. I think maybe skill set and industry determines if the market is good or not because the market is very good for technology and risk roles.

I’m starting new job next week. It’s terrible market yes but if you try, you’ll still get something.

I might be wrong but I think market right now projects next fiscal year. So it’s bad either way before or after holiday lol.

This is the highest risk but best time to make as much money as possible so you can dump all those gains into building your safety net and also investing heavily in a discounted stock market

These periods create the most wealth for those who are best prepared mentally and financially for them

like

It’s risky in the fact that when you move you’re potentially first up for layoffs

I think it's one of those things where you don't bother to look, but you're willing to entertain stuff when it comes to you. I'm not actively looking, but am keeping up my LinkedIn up to date and staying active to ensure people can find me

I've been told that it is. But I believe it's not entirely terrible so you might still get something out of it.

Lender shopping before I close out on my first home. Is 3.5% a good rate for putting 20% down on a home? How can I go about having my lender match other lenders? For context, the home I’m building in Texas has a lender that will cover $5k in closing costs if I go with them, and that’s the rate they’re giving me. I realize the rates are going back up and just wanted any advice on if it’s best to lock that in the next week or keep shopping as my closing is May 14. Thanks in advance!

I am a financial analyst and been in finance 6 years. I want a change in career to move to SAP analyst roles, potentially doing SAP certifications as I like problem solving, solutions etc. I am not sure where to start and how to make the change. Any suggestions welcome.

Currently a Corporate Banking Analyst at a T5 Canadian Bank here in NYC as a generalist (TMT, Consumer & Retail, Automotive, Industrial, etc).

Just wanted to ask what are the potential exit opps that are non-finance? Would the exit opportunities be similar to IB like Strategic Finance, Strategy & Operations, etc.?

Left my first job after just shy of two years because I was bored. Have been at my current job for about half a year and it’s a great resume builder but an absolute horror story (long hours, unreasonable clients, tons of weekend work that’s not worth the pay).
