Comp question - what should a B4 Senior with a CPA, CFF, CFE, and a MBA with 4 years forensic exp (D&T) and 6+ years non-forensic exp (industry) in NYC and DC markets expect in this current climate?
Serious question. I constantly see income reports published that indicate only ~5% of the US population make over $250k, ~1% over $500k, etc. Is this actual W2 reported income? Do corporations have ways to compensate individuals so that their total comp does NOT show on their W2 (RSUs, Deferred Compensation, etc.)? Reason I ask is because I see great wealth all around me. I feel like these reports do not always tell the whole story in terms of TC & investment income.

Is it true that Mckinsey doesn’t budge on their offers for a level regardless of current TC? Have a feeling I might be brought in Associate level which would be 165k + 15-20k bonus 1st yr, which is less than my current TC.
I’m a data engineer/engineering manager by trade and massively screwed up by going into MBB consulting, I absolutely despise it and am looking to leave about 8 months in. I have a great offer from a fortune 50 for product management in tech at a similar salary, way more RSU’s but can’t shake off the thought that I wouldn’t be an engineer anymore. Any advice from you guys to help get past my anxiety and just pull the trigger?

I wanted to celebrate two firsts in my career! For the first time I have gotten 2 job offers in the same period. I was getting underpaid at my current position, $80k. I have been interviewing for 5 months, and first I got an offer for 25% More (100k) and negotiated it up to 105k which was my first time negotiating a salary (scary!) Last night I got an offer for lead designer 130k which is 60% more than current salary. The market is hot! If you’re unhappy get out there and interview!!
4 YoE, Data Science background Have an offer at B4 for 150 base / 20 sign on. Currently at a small tech company and found that I’m pretty good at sales. They’re switching me to a full time Account Manager role where I can earn around 170 (120 base / 50 OTE) if I hit my quota. B4 role is data science related in strategy - any pros / cons on not taking B4 offer (tempting since no quota and decent sign on)?

Help me evaluate an industry offer for a B4 manager up for SM (got confirmation that I am thru the process). Current base is $171k . $180k base, $35k sign-on bonus, full relocation, 35% bonus - 20% cash and 15% equity - 15% equity bonus is assured forever with 3 year vesting. Cash bonus fixed as long as rated average. Overall happy with offer but want to evaluate it against possible growth if I stay at B4.
Wondering what the salary band for a new Sr. Art Director working in a large Pharma agency is nowadays? Asked for 90k- 100k, potential of meeting in the middle. Slightly less experience but good enough to get the job. Should I push for the 100k?
My full time job (not SMU) is literally making me sick-spent time at the ER. One associate quit and another is out of full paid parental leave (must be nice, I’m not paid for doing double the work)…so I’m now expected to do the work of 3 associates. My supervisor isn’t exactly understanding, and I don’t know what to do. I’ve been searching for jobs, but it’s difficult since my background is diverse and not focused on one area of law. If I quit, how hard is it to find a new job?
