It really irritates me that there is one particular para who ALWAYS arrives late and ALWAYS is out of the parking lot before the buses leave the premises in the afternoon. All of us are reprimanded for leaving before we're supposed to but nothing is said to that particular person. Why not just speak to the one person who is doing wrong instead of making us all feel like children?

Anyone familiar with Covid Supplemental Paid Sick Leave in CA? Does having planned time off nullify a full time employee’s ability to use the C19 sick leave if they become sick just prior to the planned time off? Good morning. This is my 20th year as a AA Para. I have missed my students so much! However, I am a little nervous to return. I know I will protect myself, and I already constantly clean, but my k-3 babies will not wear a mask. I usually get a really bad cold at beginning of school year because of new germs. Anyone else a little nervous? Any suggestions?

I am not sure I can continue to work in a system that refuses to let go of people who continue not to do their job. Kids deserve better.

Going back to in-person learning has been quite a challenge. We have 4 in-person and 8 virtual. The 4 in-person have done as well as to be expected, however their behaviors have been less than desired. One is being considered for going back to virtual due to behaviors. It's next to impossible to expect them to keep masks on and when they do, they're usually nasty or wet. I have PPEs but things do happen in the spur of the moment and it's hard to stop and put on gloves and such.

A paraprofessional's job is more than waiting for instruction from a teacher for activities for the students. It's common sense. What would you do for them if they were yours?

I'm done getting paid 1/3 of the class teacher pay and expected to teach the lessons. The other Paras in the class seem to think this is normal. I certainly don't get the same respect as the teacher. Am I alone here?
