Good morning. This is my 20th year as a AA Para. I have missed my students so much! However, I am a little nervous to return. I know I will protect myself, and I already constantly clean, but my k-3 babies will not wear a mask. I usually get a really bad cold at beginning of school year because of new germs. Anyone else a little nervous? Any suggestions?

Anyone else have bipolar disorder? I really have a hard time when my boss says I didn’t do something entirely correctly I can just completely spiral out of control if I’m in the wrong mood cont.

Can anyone offer advice for helping with adderall side effects? I was diagnosed a few months ago and I am new to medication. I have been taking 20 mg xr in the morning but have a terrible crash around 2/3pm each day where I just get very very tired. Doctor recommended 10mg ir mid day to combat but I still experience pretty severe fatigue as a side effect. Just wondering if anyone has found any natural strategies to cope or mitigate. Thanks!

How have you dealt with/recovered from burnout and feelings of numbness while working as a therapist?

I feel so guilty for not always modeling good health. Anybody else feel that way?

I told myself I would not be that person who quits during busy season but I am reaching my limit with PA. My mental health has been in shambles for years and I have found the years passing by with me doing nothing but work. I am anxious all the time even when on PTO, and I'm so close to just quitting with nothing lined up to take a mental break. Just wanted to rant.

I’ve suffered from workaholism for a long time. Thanks to a lot of great self help books and therapy, I’m no longer putting work on a pedestal and I’m spending a lot more time on self care and my marriage. But, unfortunately, I am now getting withdrawals, because my body is used to the daily adrenaline of throwing myself into work. It’s this terrible feeling of like anguish/unease in my gut, but I don’t have anything I’m worried about- it’s like my body wants to find something to worry about.

After 4 years I want to leave law because of my adhd! I have been to 4 different firms and at each place I feel like I have been “found out”. At every place at least one attorney catches me about my attention to detail. I am so down on myself now. I can’t bring myself to care about small details that I know don’t actually matter. Going back to in-person learning has been quite a challenge. We have 4 in-person and 8 virtual. The 4 in-person have done as well as to be expected, however their behaviors have been less than desired. One is being considered for going back to virtual due to behaviors. It's next to impossible to expect them to keep masks on and when they do, they're usually nasty or wet. I have PPEs but things do happen in the spur of the moment and it's hard to stop and put on gloves and such.

A paraprofessional's job is more than waiting for instruction from a teacher for activities for the students. It's common sense. What would you do for them if they were yours?

I'm done getting paid 1/3 of the class teacher pay and expected to teach the lessons. The other Paras in the class seem to think this is normal. I certainly don't get the same respect as the teacher. Am I alone here?

I am not sure I can continue to work in a system that refuses to let go of people who continue not to do their job. Kids deserve better.
