Career Tip: Martyrdom is not rewarded in the workplace. Take your PTO. Take care of your body & your mind. Have interests and strong relationships outside of work so that you do not attach undue importance to the people at work. Protect your peace.

Got an offer from another big4 on Thurs. Scheduled a call with MD on Fri bcoz the next Mon was my planned PTO. MD had an idea what it was about but didn’t wanna join. Sent text msg so that we could talk on the phone(since this is the MD’s preferred way of communication) No response. I came back from PTO the next Thurs and pinged the MD right away to talk and was ghosted. turned in my notice on Friday. MD then scheduled a call with me on my last day with the firm. Thoughts on this MD’s behavior?

I'm currently in the process of looking for new work. I've scaled it to be around 6-8 months before I can leave. I have so many projects on me and never enough coverage to even take a weeks pto. I feel immense guilt if I put in two weeks and call it quits. Yet I have people booking me months in advance for work, without consideration if I'm doing okay. My pto is always maxed out and I'm burned out. I love the work that I do just not my company's treatment of its employees.

I felt confused when I saw Buttigieg’s name on the speaker list at DNC convention and no name of Yang anywhere. (Pointing PB out because he was mayor of South Bend, elected with very few votes). The speaker list was long.. so many people yet not a single Asian American was there. I was so confused. And some people said Asians are not in their head because Asians do not fit their box. I am glad he said something about it and got added but feel not so great he was omitted initially.. meh 🙄

As of late, my work related anxiety has reached new levels and it’s really starting to affect me mentally.
