ITR - HRA query.
Can I update the pre-filled HRA amount while filing tax using old scheme, as l'm eligible for more HRA, but sent rent recipts of less amount and hence a lower number on Form-16. Has anyone tried this?
P.S. - I can get rent recipts of the new amount

HRA component shouldn't be gross of paid rent to land lord. There should be HRA calculation based on monthly paid rent, monthly basic salary for complete year.
Minimum of output value should be HRA exemption in Form16. So please calculate once for your new revised rent receipt and do

If you follow the cryptocurrency market, or even have been just taking an interest lately, with the Bitcoin "halvening," you should check out Pi.

If you haven't heard of Pi, it's a new cryptocurrency (like Bitcoin), developed by a bunch of Stanford PhDs. What makes it really interesting is that you can still mine this coin, using just the processing power of your phone, unlike just about every other coin out there. (Contd)

I did not file ITR for FY 2020-21.I had actually earned around 3,34,000 becoz I wrote master thesis for foreign students and I got online payment in my acc. So is that taxable?
If yes, then my total income will become 521121.

2ndly, whats the penalty for late filing ITR?

Thirdly, I left my previous job on 02 March, 2021, so I received the Feb 21 & March 21 on April 2021. So does it come under FY 2020-21? OrFY 2021-22?

Thanx guys

Hello All,

Can anyone please help me here.
I have made my tax payment in July 2022 but yesterday (15 Nov 2022) I receive an email that tax payment is due for assessment year 2022-23

I called to help desk and he advised to raise rectification request from Tax portal and update the challan number. I tried to raise request but need to upload some XML or json file there. I am not sure how to upload or modify that file.

Does anyone know what steps need to follow as I already made my tax payment.
