It’s so frustrating when you walk into a store as a customer and get treated poorly. Today I went shopping in a mall and asked three staff members about a product. A simple yes or no would have worked, but instead I got eye rolls and bad attitudes. It made me feel unwelcome. I wanted to leave a feedback but I did not want to deal with it on my day off, so I left and went to another store for something similar.

Have you ever had an experience where you felt you deserved better treatment?

Definitely. Bad service sticks with you, and sometimes walking out is the best feedback you can give.

I find it so fascinating when that is the culture of the entire store. A cafe near me is exactly like that. It's almost like they intentionally hire the worst personalities that apply. The more you hate life, the better you'll fit in. So many of their reviews are about the attitudes of the employees and yet nothing seems to be done to change it. It always surprises me when business owners are just OK with that.

Leave a review. Company owners need to know this sort of thing is happening. I just experienced this at a very popular chain restaurant. The waitress messed up my order and then got super defensive/rude. It was so awkward. I waited until I left to leave a polite but informative review, as I know I wouldn't be back.

Thats what I should do. It was so frustating to be treated like this. I have read other people's review about this particular store where they complaint about same thing.

Considering an offer to go from firm (4 YOE) to become a privacy/product counsel for a tech company (non-faang). One concern for me is the potential of a recession in late 22 into 23 with the fed rate hikes. My fear is if that happens, me being on the chopping block as new in house counsel. If I stayed at the firm, I feel reasonably secure as an associate of not being laid off due to the market. How do in house counsel positions typically fare during lay off cycles? Any experiences to share?

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the most, how pissed would you be if you were a supervisor and you had a new direct report on your team with a higher salary than you? The years of experience are the same, but you have 3 designations (they have 0), you have 3 licenses (they have just 2), they have little to no experience with technical complex claims (you have hundreds), and you have 3 years in management (they have 0).

I’ve worked in sales for 12 years (8 years retail sales and management, 4 years inside tech sales and management). I’m feeling the burn and looking for something else in the tech field. I’m making $140k. I have a college degree but no marketing, engineering, or product experience. What other departments/jobs could I jump to and still keep close to my OTE? I’m pretty good at Salesforce and have thought about a SFDC admin type role, but that’s all I’ve thought of so far.

Now, they have mentioned it will be released next week.

I’m new to the firm. My third project my manager was very hands off. He’s wants to have a discussion with me about my performance. He did not give me any support to work with; even when I asked! And my direct manager agrees with him, but it was my third week. What to do? I feel like I’m going to say something crazy. Any advice?

I just got married and my wife is a US citizen. I need to file my green card application. Does anyone have experience on filing on their own or lawyer recommendation ?

Once when I was waiting tables, I had a guy pay me cash. The change was 45 cents, which I didn't give back to him because like who wants that. He then asked where the change was, and when I explained that I didn't give back the loose change, he made a big stink about how dollars and cents matter and didn't leave me a tip. He was a republican staffer on capitol hill.

Back when I was getting started in the food world, I worked flipping burgers at In-n-Out. A man came in and said the burgers he had gotten weren’t right. He dumped the food on the counter and then he started throwing them back behind the counter. We gave him a refund and then his demeanor completely changed. He was calmer and he told us to have a great day as he left us to clean up the mess he made.
