I've been hesitant to reach out to people when it comes to networking, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how supportive everyone is. I’ve had a few referrals from people I barely knew. I highly recommend tapping into your network—or building one if you haven’t already. Anyone else having success with networking?

Interviewing at a dream company, and right from the first interview the recruiter told me we are way off on salary expectations. This was a little bit expected, as the role is requiring a few years less experience than I have and also in a much cheaper market. They already told me the salary range during this first call, but wondering if they like me enough and I get an offer, how I might approach negotiating for more. I would be making much less than I do now, but it is a dream company.

Today I got the job offer and they are offering me 54k. My current company is making me 50k with tons of benefits which is why I am asking for 60k.

Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. It’s like they don’t know what to say or I make them feel awkward so they don’t bother…I’m trying to focus on a few that have been supportive but it’s hard…Any words of advice? 😞

I’ve been lay off this afternoon because low performance, it just two weeks ago I talked to my manager and told her that she’s micromanaging me a lot and I need more autonomy at my work. I didn’t like what they’ve done to me specially I’ve been redundant from the previous role before joining this company. I cannot sleep please any plan’ action and what to answer for the reason why you leave your company? I’ve been in 3 jobs for the last 2 years.

Hi everyone. I was a solution engineer at Oracle. I graduated from college in May and this was my first job out of college so the lay offs were pretty rough. I majored in Supply chain management and I have 2 internships under my belt. Do you guys have any advice or tips on what to do moving forward? Was laid off in Sept. Unfortunately we will be seeing many more coming. It's what happens in a recession. Unfortunately I now also have my age against me. Not in a mentally good place at the moment.

Any advice on networking to find a new role? I've worked in the same place for so long and I'm not sure how to get started.

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I already applied for unemployment but doctors are telling me I’ve got 10-14 weeks left in this pregnancy.. so stressed having twins and being unemployed, no maternity leave, no paychecks coming in, and I’ve been applying but not a single interview.. just ugh. 😭
