I've been in industrial maintenance for 10+ years(injection molding, PLCs, calibrations, R&D w/ Engineering, etc.). Currently 33 and feeling rather unfulfilled in my current line of work. I'm considering a career pivot. My issue is, I don't know what to pivot towards. Are there any others out there like me that made a drastic (or not so drastic) change from this type of work? Where did you end up? I'm just exploring right now so any feedback is helpful.

Im working in AUM reporting side and looking to automate some daily and monthly processes that are done in excel. I know it is possible with python but I know little to no python any suggestions? Or any other software that may be able to help!

I was a contractor for a big company and they just let me know that my last day is December 30th. I got this position thanks to a recruiting company that has been great and gives me benefits.
Should I:
- Continue working with the recruiting company, hoping that they will find another position for me? (as they told me they will, and when they applied me I started working with my current company within 2 weeks)
- Work with the recruiter + apply for jobs on my own?

Tough time getting past final step: I’ve been trying to make a career shift for 10 months now and continue to get rejected at the last step. Im confident in the value I can provide and do well at presenting it. However, once it’s comes down to me and 1-2 other candidates, I repeatedly have been turned down for the person who has more relevant experience as they’re a safer bet for the employer. I have been with the company for six years now starting as lead graphic designer working my way to the production manager. since becoming the production manager two years ago I am responsible for 4 large format printers and 1 vinyl plotter. I’m wearing too many hats but I love what I do. I would love to be a remote graphic designer but I don’t know where to start. Any suggestions?
