I've been in my current job since graduating in May. Right now, I'm on the fence about making insurance a long-term career. When you were starting out, what helped you realize that this industry is (or isn't) where you belong for the next decade or so?

What helped me realize insurance was where I belonged was the people. The industry is built on relationships, and once I connected with clients and colleagues, I felt part of a community. That sense of belonging made me want to stay.

Honestly, I just really liked what I did. I kept getting promoted and moving up because I was good at it too. I guess that was enough for me to stick it out haha.

Tbh you won’t know until you get the role. Sometimes the job is great but the people aren’t the best and vice versa. It’s just about getting the experience and then determining how you feel. Whatever you decide now is not set it stone and you can change your mind later on. Don’t feel like you need to be tied to one thing just because you started off in it
