I’ve been in my role coming up on 5 yrs..it’s not bad at all, but I’m starting to get an itch to try something new. Salary is just nominally increasing each year with standard raises. Is it better to prioritize growth and other opportunities or just appreciate what I have?

I always use the “learning or earning” rule. If you’re in a role that is high growth or you’re building strong relationships for the future (learning) then it’s ok to sit at a lower comp level to get the experience. If you’re in a boring role or you’re doing a ton of grunt work but it pays well, stay there and stack up the Benjamin’s…but if you’re in a slow role that’s not paying great and you’re not learning I would recommend leaving unless there’s something going on in your personal life that requires you have this break.

Thanks AP1, this is a really good way to think about it

Now the offices have started, I am scared if they call me to office , I have 14months son, not willing to leave him n go for office.

So if I ask manager to give me permanent wfh will they agree ?

What advice would you give to someone who has had total reliance on TAMPs but making a complete change to investment management style?

How to deal with people flirting with you at work.
I’m married, and one of my coworkers flirts with me. Nothing super overt, but definitely not professional. We’re good friends and work together constantly because we’re on the same client, so I don’t want to make it awkward. Do I just do nothing and let it go? It is mostly just odd I’m not super offended, but I’m also clearly uninterested!

Hello I’m curious on how to bring this to my supervisor attention. A few months back all the techs got a raise based on how long they have had been a tech. A coworker and I Both have been a tech for the same amount of years but she got 1.50 more than I did. How do I bring this up as the supervisor mentioned that we shouldn’t be talking about our raises.

Hi everybody.
Right now I’m working as a junior product engineer in Amsterdam. From januari on I’ll be a medior product engineer. And now I’m in the middle of negotiating about my salary increase. The salary that I’m being offered feels low (41.5k).
Is there an other product engineer that could tell me if my gut feeling is right or not? Thanks in advance!

My husband just received a job offer on an opportunity he is really excited about. It would be great for his career and they are giving the 15% jump in base he asked for, however they won’t share what the target bonus amount would be. It’s an executive director position, so I would assume it’s a decent target bonus, but without that in writing it could honestly be a gift basket at the end of the year. Is it a red flag for them to not share this? His total comp could be less at this new job…

Should I accept the offer from company A, continue interview process with company B and then rescind my offer with company A if company B offers me a job? Will I be burning bridges?
