Omg yes! I feel the same way. In fact I just booked a flight to NYC for next week. Been out here for a year...way overrated
For those considering a move from NYC can you please elaborate?
Sounds about right
Dude me too! And it sucks because I grew up in the South Bay so this place is my home. Take me back to NYC.
Grass is always greener right? I romanticize SF (and LA, Chicago, Miami and others) all the time

I live in SF and love being close to nature and the better weather. I go hiking/biking most weekends and surfing/skiing when the weather is right. For what it's worth I think the average person in SF is chiller then NYC which jives with my personality. That said, there are some very glaring flaws about this city, especially for young people in finance.
NYC >
Seriously. I might move to SF

Well there's no nightlife. The whole city revolves around tech and tech investors vs NY having a fashion scene and finance more broadly -- think about the kind of people who work in those industries. I'd say it's a harder city to start your career in because the ppps are more tailored vs BB analyst/associate programs. Plus I'd throw in the fact that having lived all over the country the east coast (specifically NY and DC) feels like the center of the world whereas SF is pretty counterculture in its roots and at the moment can be unfriendly to outsiders (like me I guess) who they see as trying to turn it into the NY of the west coast
