There is no answer here. People ghost. There are genuine and trustworthy people out there who you need to keep hustling. A lot of folks who haven’t been through the job search or experienced long periods of unemployment just don’t get it. It’s a real struggle. You’ve done nothing wrong. Ask yourself… “is this person a good friend or just a casual acquaintance you met somewhere along your professional journey!” If you really know this person, call them. And I mean literally pick up a phone and call.
Thanks. That’s sound advice and I appreciate you taking the time to write back. It’s hard when you’ve always prioritized relationships.
I’ll speak from my experience.
I’m happy to help people get started with my company- and having been laid off in the past, I try to help anyone who asks nicely, no matter how close I am or was with them.
That said, it’s my cred that I’m putting on the line. So they have to be trustworthy. (Seems your contact has no reservations about you)
The other thing is that once I make that connection and do what I can, it’s out of my hands. So I do what I can and then at a certain point, I have to move on.
Is it possible that your contact has given you clues that she’s done all she can?
Or alternately, she might just be away.
You know this person and you don’t have any other contact info apart from linkedin? You should take legit conversations off linkedin and into email once you’ve started an exchange.
