I found my current role on LinkedIn. I don’t know if WLB is better. I still bill 8-10+ hours a day. I might even bill more because I don’t have the commute. I think overall WLB is the same or worse but it’s more comfortable. I hate office chit chat and love having my own bathroom, coffee, food, office equipment, wearing leggings everyday.
More comfortable is good! Fully remote with no commute is my dream job
Just moved to a fully remote role. I could not be happier. As a mom of 2 young kids, it gives me that commute time back and allows me to do small tasks like throwing in a load of laundry at lunchtime that would otherwise get pushed to the weekend. I'm more productive at home and can log off with enough time to throw together a quick dinner before kids pick up.
Sigh. I’m currently considering a move from a firm where RTO hasn’t been enforced against me to one that apparently takes it pretty seriously. It’s asinine. I don’t work less but I have more time to myself because I don’t have to have a long commute and the time it takes to make myself presentable for work to factor in. And there’s truly NO reason to require in office time due to the particularities of why I’d be moving over.
That I’ve been WFH since Covid and my firm hasn’t made any noise to enforce RTO is the main reason I haven’t taken higher paying opportunities elsewhere. My kids are in school, I can focus at home with all the comforts, and have enough time so that Biglaw is actually sustainable well into my second decade there.
You're correct, getting a good remote job these days also depends on your experiences😊Well there's a job opening I'd like to share. Celebrity Equinox cruise ship is currently in need of 14 workers. They pay upto $6k per 3 weeks, I believe they're more in search of WFH Merchant staffs, it's about keeping records of Food&Beverage sales remotely. is anyone in for it?
