I've been working as a first year tech consulting associate in a D365 practice at a large consulting firm (non b4) and I feel as if I am just not very interested in the job. The WLB and culture are good but I feel as if my interests lie in a different area, and I also want to increase my salary (NYC). I studied finance in college and have always had an interest in VC and M&A stuff but I am unsure of where to turn. Anyone have any advice to find my footing here? Also I am only about 5 months in

Late 30’s with a couple of kids. Is it worth it for me to seek a CS degree at this time/soonish? I’m not afraid of the extra work, and would go part time. Wondering if the eventual payoff would worth the effort. Will I level up quicker? Employer has partial tuition reimb.

I’m four months into my job and I got put onto a PIP. I worked so hard to break into IB, put up all the hours and even working 2am nights for weeks, learned a ton, and improved a lot along the way as the sole analyst yet this happens. I’m extra worried because it doesn’t seem there’s IB analyst positions out there. Im really hoping come January more positions come up but I’m just praying they don’t fire me until then. Anyone have general tips for this situation?
