I’ve been working in my practice area for about 5 years. Is it too late to change practice areas? I’m currently a senior attorney but I’m willing to start at a lower level in order to try something different.

It's never too late to make a change. It occurs to me, however, that there's probably a limit to how many career pivots someone can effectuate before it starts to look odd. Though I'm sure there must be characters out there who have moved and shifted and pivoted every few years just for the adventure of it.

I don’t think it’s too late, but don’t give up your practice until you actually find the next role. And if possible, you should try that different area it within your firm or your company if you are in house.

Good morning!

Still trying to figure out this whole Fishbowl thing, so here goes my first post.

I would love to get into provider credentialing, but all employers I've looked at want at least 3 years of experience. So, I'm looking at Provider Network Coordinator roles, because I'm finding some of those roles don't need AS MUCH experience. I'm a RHIT, and have been working in healthcare for nearly 10 years.

Any input on employers is appreciated!

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. Is this normal in the entertainment world? Any suggestions?
