I’ve know companies often tie salary increases to hitting specific performance targets. Sometimes the target dates are unrealistic and some feel fair. An example is a project I was on that had many failures and delayed the launch of a product by 5 months because of some technology and funding issues. The leadership team was not happy about it. But we did it, eventually!

How do you decide if this is something that should be used to push for a raise?

I returned back from Germany this year and now my current fixed CTC in India is 25 LPA and my in hand salary after deduction was 1.4 LPM, I was not sure what to opt in the Tax regime and selected new tax regime. I have practiced for five years and make $121k as an employee of a financial services company. As the only attorney, I oversee all statewide collections efforts, from demand letter to garnishment, with a case volume of nearly 7k new cases per year, of which the majority I end up litigating. I receive only a $1k bonus per year. Is my compensation fair? My last insurance defense gig was $75k.
