I’ve noticed something interesting during interviews lately: some candidates are extremely polished, almost rehearsed, while others are more candid and think things through in real time. For those who interview people regularly, which actually leaves the stronger impression?

At the end of the day, what you are saying matters the most. I will say it feels like the more candid conversations seem to understand more, and have the ability to think and answer with a deeper understanding. But there are rehearsed answers that also perfectly fit the bill. Not a black and white answer.

I have always thought someone who thinks things through in real time leaves a stronger impression. I don't want someone who has extremely polished answers. I want someone who can think on their feet and still give an organized, well-thought-out answer.

When you recruiters say at the end of a 15 min call.
“I will get back to you by the end of this week” does that really mean “your not right for this position”? Because this whole thing is a waste of time. I’ve did these calls with 3 recruiters and is yet to hear back from someone. Today would be the 4th recruiter that I’ve spoken to. Does this practice annoy you guys just as much as it does us? My dream career is to be a technical recruiter but this whole thing is discouraging.

I have a friend who was let go a few months into his first job after college (reason: the manager felt like he wasn't grasping the training content to the level that was expected). He's worried about if he should put the experience on his resume anyway, if he does will recruiters ask why he had such a short time at this place, and what will recruiters think if he explains he was let go.
