I’ve realized how little true privacy there is at work with all the open offices, shared spaces, constant visibility. Outside of a bathroom stall, it’s hard to fully disconnect or reset. I didn’t expect that to affect me this much but it does over time.
Do you feel like you have enough personal space at work?

Yes I have felt the same. Its even bad when you have to take calls or others talking loudly on calls. Just because of this I prefer working from home. While in office I do try to go for lunch outside and take walk just to reset myself. I thought I was the only one who think like this but this really hit me.

At what point will the bathroom stalls be made of glass too, just to take away the last place we're not on full display

Does anyone have any insight into partners retiring early? I am at a point where I need to consider leaving if I am not aiming for partner. I don’t see myself working past my 40s. My partner and I are not big spenders and anticipate have enough to retire comfortably in 40s (obviously a lot can change). I have been assured I will become SM in next year (currently 31 years old).

I had my first round of interviews with Mckinsey last Friday. the first case was a disaster but the second case + both of the PEI were quite good. The thing is, my other lead progressed very well, it's also in the Private Equity space, an Investor Relations manager role, boring but good money. they pressed me to go through all the process by the end of the week but I won’t be able to advance much with McKinsey by then…Super stressed, what should I do?

I am seeking new employment, I was recently laid off due to lack of work. I would very much appreciate any leads. I have a Bs in Construction Management and over 15 years experience with Revit and AutoCAD and 7 years of plumbing design. I have solid references and impeccable work ethic. I truly enjoy what I do. Working remotely the last three years has become a way of my life and supports our current situation well, therefore I am seeking a similar role but will consider other opportunities.

I have just interviewed for a position closer to home and a base salary of 65k, but haven’t heard back from them in about 2 days (He said he would make a decision by yesterday and I’ve reached out).
I have to decide on the first offer by Thursday but I haven’t heard back from the second yet. Thoughts on next move?
