What aspects would you look at when interviewing a person for a Manager position?

When I was coming up the ranks it was very common for managers to be verbally aggressive and in my opinion abusive. Have a lot of you experienced this too? Hated it greatly and vowed to never be like them.

Did anyone have to interview with McKinsey alumni during the McKinsey interview process and how was the experience. I have an interview in two weeks.

Are ppl worried about being on the bench esp when there aren’t a lot of projects in the pipeline? New hire here about to be up for staffing for the first time and sentiment at my firm seems to be worried/fearful about being unstaffed. Employer is trying to force me (disabled using a walker and immunocompromised) to return to work at the office after WFH efficiently (covering 2 roles!) For 2 years. I actually can't even do my job from the office. Office isn't ADA compliant and my walker doesn't fit. Some employees aren't vaxxed and mask mandates are being removed. I've been fighting this order loudly. And now I have to meet with the CEO, HR and my supervisor. Wish I could leave, but I don't have a new job lined up.

If you go for interview and you sort of know that the person interviewing you might be curious about something on your negative on your resume like why is there a gap or why were you in XX role for so long?

Do you address it pre-emptively? Or does that show insecurity and you leave the elephant in the room and wait till they ask you?

I’ve received a full time job offer from a company I have worked for remotely for the last 2 years (only traveling for productions), the only catch is I would have to move my life from a nice city with a lot of nature and outdoor opportunities to a large metropolitan city. My partner doesn’t want to move and I don’t think I do either. As a contractor, I work about 60-70 hours per week and have been grinding for two years. The full time people don’t get it any easier. My superiors are asking me to contact CEOs of debtors to chase payments. We’re in B2B and payments are usually 30 days or more. As soon as we get someone over that and they don’t provide a payment date, I’m being asked to contact their CEOs somehow and demand payment. I went from agency to in house PR 1.5 years ago (I’m at a prof services firm in nyc). There are no boundaries for communication; everyone is expected to answer emails immediately at all hours and senior people respond in minutes between about 7am-11pm, at minimum. Is this normal in the corporate, non agency world? Not sure if this is just due to the pandemic and WFH, but I was under the impression that in house life would be more chill.
