Just finished my first two projects on my digital marketing diploma course at the British Academy for Digital Marketing. The projects were on the Seven P’s of marketing and I used Nike Company to explain each P. I wrote an article on it as well . The other project was on the Impact of the internet on today’s consumer. I’m job searching right now and applied for a job I was a little overqualified for just to shoot my shot and get my foot in the door with a great brand. The hiring mgr took the time to email me to tell me I was overqualified and offered to help me get connected to his network. He’s been so kind and helpful and I’m kind of in shock at his generosity. Even if an offer doesn’t come from it, is it weird if I send him a Starbucks gift card or something as a thank you? What’s appropriate?

I recently got a job offer through a company that offered me the high end of what I was asking (75k) but since it is the high end of what I asked for, do I have room to negotiate? Do I have a leg to stand on if I even try negotiating at the point? I have til Friday to fully accept. CTR, contracts and department overhaul

our marketing dept is undergoing a complete overhaul. under old leadership, a $75k 12-mo contract was signed to a marketing group that handles our SEO, blog and everything Google Ads. All things I can and am in training to do. Current CTRs on G ads seem pitiful at no more than 0.75%. My meta ads coast around 4-6%. During this overhaul, would it be wise to not renew our contract, and negotiate for me to take over these roles and leverage a raise?

Will an MBA set me apart? I have a BS in Marketing from top 15 undergraduate business program with a 3.8 gpa, 2 years work experience (3 by the time I’d enroll), and scored in the 63rd percentile on the gmat. This qualifies me for an average business school (ranked below ~50). My goal is to move into a management position within the next 5 years and eventually move into a director or c-suite role. At your companies, do most upper-level marketing employees have an MBA? Is it from a top school?

Hi everyone, I have a quick question that’s kind of silly. I work at a pretty small company leading marketing. My title is technically Marketing Lead but I want to put Head of Marketing on my LinkedIn etc. I think of these titles as totally interchangeable—I just like the way the second one reads better. I know titles don’t really matter, but I’m battling a little bit of imposter syndrome.
