Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

This is pretty common in the professional services world. Bill Bain was at BCG before building Bain and Co. The Lords of Strategy is a good book on the history of MBB and some of their derivatives. Here’s a page o Kearney specifically:

I’m wrapping up reading “confessions of an economic hitman” right now… and am allured by the power these easy coast firms have to shift so much of power in global politics.
…and I need a job to hopefully obtain a similar or better lifestyle as my parents who did well at GM — and all these consulting firms seem like well paying employers — ha

Ya. What THE hell is up with all the “accounting firms” In England and then the US “management consulting firms” in the US and mainly around Boston??
There’s “the big 4” and in that 4, Deloitte + KPMG seem to do more tech implementation than the other two. Then “MBB” tries not to get involved in tech implementation but just firing people and “re orgs” based on what I’ve seen/experienced.
And I’m just now learning about these “T2” firms and they seem all over the place in terms of what they specialize in? Ie some of the T2 firms are in “tech consulting” like Accenture, but then Kearney is not involved in tech implementation it seems based on conversations I’ve had.

Looks like that was just a re org in the 1930s. Tom Kearney was a McKinsey employee who just branched out and wanted to start his own firm. Kearney is a strong firm, they just have a much more specific strength in supply chain/operations work
Well however they do it today - Kearney was founded a long time ago.
Partners swap firms all the time though. Or go off on their own. You only get sued if you’re going after your old clients and eventually even that is fine.
